Terms of Service

Effective date: January 1, 2025

Article 1 — Purpose

These Terms of Service govern your use of the DOWAME concierge service (the “Service”) operated by DOWAME, and set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between DOWAME and its users.

Article 2 — Definitions

  1. “Service” means the concierge and food delivery proxy service provided by DOWAME for visitors in Seoul and Busan.
  2. “User” means any person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
  3. “Order” means a food delivery request placed by a User through the Service for which payment has been completed.
  4. “Payment Processor” means KG Inicis Japan Co., Ltd., which handles payment settlement.

Article 3 — Effect and Amendment of Terms

  1. These Terms take effect when posted on the Service or otherwise communicated to Users.
  2. DOWAME may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law. Users will be notified at least 7 days before any change takes effect.
  3. If a User does not agree to the amended Terms, they may stop using the Service and close their account.

Article 4 — Service Description

  1. DOWAME provides food delivery proxy and concierge assistance for restaurants in Seoul and Busan.
  2. The Service is available year-round but may be temporarily suspended for system maintenance or other unavoidable reasons.
  3. DOWAME acts as an intermediary between Users and restaurants. Responsibility for food quality, preparation, and hygiene rests with the respective restaurants.

Article 5 — User Obligations

  1. Users must provide accurate delivery information (hotel name, room number) and valid contact details.
  2. Users must not misuse another person’s personal information or submit false information.
  3. Users must not engage in any activity that disrupts the normal operation of the Service.

Article 6 — Payment

  1. Service fees are charged per order: shopping proxy at ₩8,000 per product link and ₩5,000 for each additional item purchased from the same store; food delivery and grocery proxy at ₩8,000 per order plus the cost of the order; in-store purchase from ₩25,000 per store in Seoul; and special requests quoted individually before payment.
  2. A payment and currency handling fee of 6% applies to the portion of the order value exceeding ₩50,000. This covers payment processor and currency conversion costs. We do not apply a margin to the exchange rate itself.
  3. Where we arrange third-party services on your behalf — couriers, international carriers, laundry, florists and similar — those charges are passed through at the amount we are billed, and are itemised in your quote. Customs duties and import taxes are the responsibility of the recipient.
  4. Payment is made by credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.). Settlement is handled by KG Inicis Japan Co., Ltd.
  5. Prices are listed in KRW. Amounts charged in other currencies depend on the exchange rate applied by your card issuer at the time of payment.

Article 7 — Cancellations and Refunds

  1. Order cancellations and refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.
  2. Orders cannot be cancelled once the restaurant has begun preparing the food.
  3. After delivery, refunds are considered only for valid reasons such as food quality issues.

Article 8 — Disclaimers

  1. DOWAME is not liable for service interruptions caused by force majeure events such as natural disasters, war, or civil unrest.
  2. DOWAME is not liable for service disruptions caused by the User’s own actions.
  3. DOWAME does not guarantee the accuracy of allergen or nutritional information provided by restaurants. Users with allergies must verify ingredients before ordering.

Article 9 — Governing Law and Disputes

  1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. In the event of a dispute, DOWAME and the User will first attempt to resolve it through good-faith negotiation.
  3. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court as the court of first instance.
