You Cannot Buy a KBO Ticket Online. Here Is What Actually Works.

He wanted to see Kiwoom play Lotte at Gocheok, and he wanted to sit with the Lotte fans.

That is a specific request and a good one. Korean baseball crowds do not watch quietly — each team has a cheering section with a leader, a drum, and a song for every player, and Lotte’s is the loudest in the country. Sitting there is the point. Sitting three sections over is a different evening entirely.

He could not buy the ticket. Not because it was sold out. Because the site would not let him get that far.

Where it stops

There is no single place to buy KBO tickets. That surprises people. Each home team sells through whichever platform it has a contract with:

• Ticketlink — LG, Hanwha, Samsung, KT, KIA
• NOL Ticket (formerly Interpark) — Doosan, Kiwoom
• Their own system — SSG, Lotte, NC

So the answer to “where do I buy Korean baseball tickets” depends on who is playing at home that night. For a Kiwoom home game it is the club site or NOL Ticket. For a Lotte home game in Busan it is the Lotte app and nowhere else.

And every one of them asks for the same three things before you can even see the seat map:

1. A membership account
2. Identity verification — a Korean phone number tied to your name
3. A registered Korean payment method

Step two is where it ends. It is not a form you can be clever about. Korean identity verification checks your name against a phone number registered to you at a Korean carrier. A foreign number does not fail the check — there is nowhere to put it.

The other thing nobody tells you: timing

Even for Koreans, KBO tickets are not casually available. For Kiwoom home games, booking opens at 2pm exactly seven days before the game. Season members get in three hours early; Hero membership holders, two hours early.

By the time general sale opens, the good sections are thin. Fans call it 피켓팅 — “blood ticketing.” If you are planning your trip a month out, you cannot book the game yet. If you remember three days before, it is often gone.

This is the part that catches visitors hardest. It is not that you were slow. The window simply was not open when you were planning.

What actually works

Three routes, in the order we would try them.

1. Someone with a Korean account buys it at face value

This is the clean one. The barrier is the account and the verification, not the money or the availability. If someone who already has both buys the moment sales open, you get the seat you want at the printed price. That is what we do.

2. Cancellation tickets

The route most visitors never hear about, and it works more often than you would think.

Korean ticketing lets people reserve by bank transfer, and unpaid reservations are cancelled automatically at midnight — a batch of seats drops back into the system every night. On top of that, you can cancel for free up to two hours before the game, so more seats appear on the morning of.

Catching those means watching the page, repeatedly, at the right hours. That is a person’s time rather than any trick, which is exactly why it is worth handing to someone else.

3. The stadium on the day

Both Gocheok and Sajik sell on-site through self-service kiosks. For a midweek game that is not a derby, walking up can work. For a weekend game, a rivalry, or September — when the standings matter — do not plan your evening around it.

What seats cost

Cheaper than you are expecting. Gocheok, 2026 season:

• Outfield reserved (this includes the cheering sections) — ₩9,000 midweek, ₩13,000 weekend. In peak summer (19 May–6 Sep) it is ₩10,000 and ₩15,000.
• Infield — around ₩20,000 midweek, ₩28,000 weekend.

Midweek means Tuesday to Thursday. Weekend means Friday to Sunday, and public holidays count as weekend.

Two useful facts about the seating. At Gocheok, first base is the home side and third base is the away side — so to sit with Lotte fans at a Kiwoom home game, you want third base. And the cheering sections sit in the cheapest category in the building. The best atmosphere in Korean sport costs about nine thousand won.

Gocheok is indoors

Worth knowing if your schedule is tight: Gocheok Sky Dome is the only domed stadium in the KBO. No rain-outs. Every other ballpark can wash out on a summer evening and take your one free night with it.

If you have exactly one night for baseball and it is raining, a Gocheok game is the safe booking.

How his night went

He told us the date, the matchup, and that he wanted to be with the Lotte supporters. We sorted the ticket out and sent it to him. He sat in the away cheering section at Gocheok and stayed to the end.

He did not need a guide, a tour, or a package. He needed one seat that the internet would not sell him.

Tell us three things and we will take it from there:

• The date, or the range of dates you are in Korea
• Which team you want to sit with — home side or away side changes the section
• How many people, and whether you need seats together

The earlier the better, because of the seven-day window. If your dates are further out than that, tell us anyway — we will watch for the opening.

FAQ

Why can't I just make an account with my passport?

The verification step checks a Korean phone number registered to your name, not a document. There is no passport option to choose. This is the same wall that blocks Coupang, Naver reservations and most Korean delivery apps.

Can I buy at the stadium instead?

Sometimes. Kiosks sell on the day at both Gocheok and Sajik. It is a real option for a quiet midweek game and a bad plan for a weekend or a rivalry.

How far ahead should I ask?

Sales open seven days before the game, at 2pm. Ask us before that and we will be ready when it opens. Ask after and we move to cancellation tickets, which work but are less certain.

Can you get four seats together?

Often, if we are there at the opening. Once a game has been on sale for a few days, seats together in the popular sections are the first thing to disappear. Tell us the group size up front so we know what we are aiming at.

What if the game is cancelled?

Outdoor parks call games for rain and tickets are refunded by the club. Gocheok is indoors, so this does not come up there.

Is the cheering section too intense?

It is loud, it stands, and it sings for three hours. Nobody minds that you do not know the songs — people will show you. If you want the atmosphere without the standing, the infield is calmer and you can still hear everything.

Can you do other sports?

Ask. Football and basketball have the same verification wall and the same fragmented ticketing. Concerts are harder and the rules are different — we will tell you honestly whether it is possible before you count on it.

Do I pay you before or after you have the ticket?

You see the ticket price and our fee before anything is charged, same as everything else we do. If we cannot get the seat, you pay nothing.
